Couture W/out Lacroix?

French couturier Christian Lacroix will not participate in next week's haute couture shows. As previously posted on NoirLace, CL filed for bankruptcy in 2009. This will be the first Parisian haute couture w/out a collection from Lacroix. His exquisite artistry will truly be missed.

Christian Lacroix Haute Couture Fall '09

Christian Lacroix is resilient! After announcing bankruptcy, the master still showed at the Parisian fall '09 haute couture shows. The collection was small but stunning. The beaded dress, covered in tulle is perfection. Also, I'm salivating over the noir coat w/ the gold embroidery detail. With this showing, Lacroix demonstrated his force in the world of couture. Love it!

Fashion Tragedy: Christian Lacroix Bankrupt?

The economic recession has taken another victim. French fashion house, Christian Lacroix, announced its filing for bankruptcy today. Established in 1989, the luxury brand operated independently. And with the recent lack in luxury good revenue, CL was unable to stay afloat. The house had one of the most dynamic showings; during this year's Paris Haute Couture shows (check it NoirLace's post "Killa Kill @ Lacroix"). It's truly a sad day, in the world of fashion. :-(

Killa Kill @ Lacroix

If you didn't know, the Paris Haute Couture Spring '09 shows started this week. One of the first to show, Christian Lacroix (aka the beast) kicked it off with his new beautifully tailored collection. Although, it was quite a hodge-podgey showing-Lacroix presented great garments. I'm loving his use of the noir models. (Check out Chanel Iman and the other one with the ashy-knees, love it! lol)
