Eve is looking effortlessly fly, on the streets of L.A. She's seen here rockin' LV's Stephen Sprouse speedy. Notice the thong sandals and leggings. Those are staples a fly b*tch can't live without. Love it!!!
So now its Milan Fashion Week (I know, its hard to keep up). Angela Missoni tripled-up on layering for Missoni ready-to-wear fall '09. I'm soooo feeling the slouchy, longjohn-like leggings. And of course, you know I'm sucker for all things fur. What a dope showing for Missoni. Italians sure know how to serve it up!
Tiny killed it last nite @ F.A.T. (fashionable, artistic, trendsetters) Tuesdays @ Straits (Ludacris' restaurant) in Atlanta. She's seen here rockin' a tuff-azz Gucci bag and pumps. Pairing the ensemble with skinny jeans and a detailed red top, was a great decision. Lately, Tiny has been quite the fashionista (she even wore that dope-azz sequin Herve' Leger dress to the Grammy's). I guess Tip wasn't playing by saying, his girl can have what she wants. Love it!!!
Yesterday, Ciara showed-up at an NYC radio station, with not one but two bossy-azz bags. You know, your girl had to mention it. As you may know, a chick like me is all about EXCESS! I don't even know how much that Louis ran her, but my guess is @ least 4 stacks. The Gucci retails @ $1095 (via www.gucci.com). Call me shallow, but what a way to represent the 'A'.
First of all, allow me to say it was a difficult discussion. But at the end of the day, I had to go with Maria Tomei in Versace Atelier. This elegant, pleated, intricately-detailed silver gown spoke volumes. It was fashion at its finest. And Marisa didn't disappoint in the hair/make-up department. She knew what event she was attending and nailed it! Love it!
Honorable mention goes to: Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive' (the back was sickening!)
Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry(loving the pop of color!)
Viola Davis in Reem Acra (you know I heart Reem!)
Taraji P. Henson in Roberto Cavalli and Fred Leighton jewelry (killer hair & make-up)
Penelope Cruz in vintage Balmain and 3 million dollars in Chopard jewelry
And last but not least, Miley Cyrus in Zuhair Murad
These little ladies are sick! I'm loving the color contrast in these Giuseppe Zanotti open-toe sandal booties ($650 @ www.saks.com). Pair them with a pair of black skinny jeans or nude-colored pencil skirt. Love 'em!
If you didn't know, fashion week has moved over the pond to London. I'm so feeling Vivienne Tam Red Label rtw fall '09. The colors and textures are very cohesive. And I'm living for the footwear. Killa!
Project Runway's most raved alumni, Christian Siriano (shown above), is collaborating with Payless Shoesource. Yes, you read it right, Payless. Siriano has teamed-up with the low-end store to offer an afforablde collection of shoes and handbags (some items shown below).
The line is set to launch in September '09 (prices ranging from $25-$45). I'm so not a fan of cheap Payless shoes but; for Christian I might purchase a piece.
I must say, this was quite an elaborate showing for The Don aka Zac Posen. It was a perfect marriage of fantasy and reality. Only Mr. Posen can serve it up like this. What a fantastic way to conclude fashion week. Love it!!!
A chick can't lose in Reem Acra and Christian Louboutin. Halle Berry is definitely that chick, seen here at Essence magazine's 2nd Annual Black Women in Hollywood event yesterday. As usual, she's styled to the 9's and the fit is perfect. You better work!
I know, these looks leave you breathless. Check out my fav's from J.Mendel fall ready-to-wear '09. The show took place today (of course, its New York Fashion Week). The boss of furs, Mendel, truly stepped-up his rtw game with this dynamic visual fashion-gasm. I love the way he styled his collection with Louboutins, red lip stick, slick ponytails, and estate-like jewelry. I live!
In referencing ultra-fabulous stylists, Kithe Brewster's name should be bulleted and bold. He's the master-mind behind the looks of Eva Mendez, Cate Blanchett, Beyonce' (no more Ms. Tina, horray!), Lil' Kim, Heidi Klum, Eve, and many more. I may be a bit late (being that he's been in the business for over a decade) but; I had to discover who was behind Kate Beckingsale's dream Reem Acra dress at the '09 Grammys (look seen below).
In addition to styling, Brewster is contributing fashion editor-at-large for Squint magazine. Basically, dude is certified-dope. I now have a new fashion styling inspirator, to go along with June Ambrose, Patricia Field, and Rachael Zoe. Fall in love with Kithe's work @ http://www.kitebrewsterinc.com/
Marc Jacobs, totally, went there with his new ready-to-wear collection for fall '09. Where's there you ask?.... An opulent, over-to-top, lavish place others are afraid to go. He gave you super-dope silhouettes, banging accessories, and as always slick/edgy styling. Love it!!!
Max Azria went with a edgier look for his latest Herve Leger collection (for fall '09). The show took place today at NY Fashion Week, in the Promenade. Remember these looks, as I'm sure they will be worn by your favorite celebrity/fashionista soon.
