Ravishingly Ruched Rossum

Ruching is all the rage! Emmy Rossum definitely got the memo. Check her out @ an event rockin' this fabulous noir Emanuel Ungaro number. The ruching detail compliments her petite figure. She kept the neck & ears bare, allowing the dress to shine. I'm loving the strappy gladiator sandals. Overall, this is a great look! Work!

Barbie Scores Vogue Italia's Black Issue

Barbie will serve as muse for Vogue Italia's upcoming second Black Issue. The iconic doll will be featured in a supplement, adorned in gorgeous gowns & sensational swimwear. Barbie has been taking over fashion lately (remember her fashion week showing). I admire Italian Vogue's innovative approach for the Black Issue. American Vogue needs to step up their game. Can't wait!

Honorable Mention: Beyonce'

Eff what you heard! Beyonce' has been stepping-up her fashion game lately. Check her out @ a charity event in Chicago. She's rockin' this insanely-fresh khaki ensemble. Normally, harem pants aren't a good look for "hippy" chicks but, The Big Bey pulls 'em off w/ her svelte figure. Also, the intricately-embellished belt is a great addition. The Killer Bey strikes again! Work!

Chanel Haute Couture Fall '09

Sometimes, less is definitely more. Karl Lagerfeld should have adopted that notion for Chanel haute couture fall '09. With over 55 looks, the collection was lackluster. Surprisely so, after the house had two strong showings earlier this year. I must say, I love the noir lace tights. Overall, it was a good collection but---not good enough for Chanel.

Givenchy Haute Couture Fall '09

There's only one word to describe Givenchy's haute couture fall '09 collection: magnificent! With a strong Moroccan influence, the collection was breathtaking (to say the least). I'm, especially, loving the off-white jacket w/ gold chains. Also, the white/red strapless ombre gown is stunning! Richard Tisci & team rarely disappoints. Love it!

Valentino Haute Couture Fall '09

The new blood @ Valentino served it up for haute couture fall '09. Almost the entire collection was done in noir. Each garment was truly a work of art. I'm lusting over the nude/noir color combination. It was opulent & pretty. I'm sure Mr. Valentino was proud. Bravo!

Christian Lacroix Haute Couture Fall '09

Christian Lacroix is resilient! After announcing bankruptcy, the master still showed at the Parisian fall '09 haute couture shows. The collection was small but stunning. The beaded dress, covered in tulle is perfection. Also, I'm salivating over the noir coat w/ the gold embroidery detail. With this showing, Lacroix demonstrated his force in the world of couture. Love it!

Project Runway Season 6

Season six of Project Runway premieres August 20th. As formerly mentioned on NoirLace, PR is moving to the Lifetime Network. Heidi Klum will be returning as host w/ team Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia, and Michael Kors. I can't wait to see who will be the next Jay, Chloe, Jeffrey, Christian or Leanne.

Armani Prive' Fall '09

Armani Prive' made a marvelous mark @ this week's haute couture shows. This collection was lavish, to say the least. I'm in love w/ the cut-out jumpsuit & the 3/4 length marabou fur. As always, his evening gowns are amazing & Oscar-worthy. I'm sure Rachel Zoe will be pulling from this fabulous collection. Love it!

Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall '09

In case you didn't know, the Paris Haute Couture shows began this week. The house of Christian Dior kicked it off in dynamic form. Check out my favorite looks from Dior's fall collection. With this showing, the house mixed classic garments w/ lingerie. I love the fuchsia gown w/ the noir lace bustier. Also, the champagne tiered number is to die! This collection was a great interpretation of pretty & provocative. Love it!
