Stefano Pilati resurrected Christy Turlington for YSL's fall '09 ad campaign. I appreciate the 80's homage but I must say; this ad is a bit lackluster. Off with the art director's head!

What Not to Wear!

Is this what Kanye meant by "when you try hard, is when you die hard?" Check out Lala shopping in L.A. It appears that her crouch is eating her shorts, lmao! Clearly, the short-shorts trend is not for her. Stop it!

Alexander McQueen Resort 2010

Always enticing the eye with a new silhouette, Alexander McQueen is the king of fantasy fashion. Check out my favorite looks from his Resort 2010 collection. I'm soooooo loving the geometric patterns. The leggings are insane and the yellow/noir a-line dress is perfection. McQueen appears to be constantly inspired. And through his work, he's always an inspiration to me. Love it!

Rihanna Rockin' Alexander Wang

Rihanna is always ahead of the fashion game. Check her out rockin' a bag from Alexander Wang's new accessories line. Debuting in the fall, Ri Ri has already copped a piece. Wang just released photos of the line via Facebook two weeks ago (previously posted on NoirLace). Shout-out to Ri-Ri's stylist for being on her ish. Work!

Best Dressed @ BET Awards

Bey rarely disappoints. Check her out rockin' Balmain @ last nights show. The dress fits like a dress and the shoe choice was perfection. This is how it should be done. Work!

Worst Dressed @ BET Awards

There were a lot of misses @ last night's Bet Awards---but I believe this takes the cake. Keyshia, Keyshia, Keyshia nice try but its not Easter in Oakland (in 1996, lol!). This look is way tooo matchy. Also, I despise the closed-toe shoe choice. No worries though KC, I'm in Atlanta---hire me.

Shoe of the Week

Fall/winter is looking up. Check out these suede sandals by Yves Saint Laurent ($930 via www.saks.com). The design is sooo intricate and the suede is lush. I heart a good nude shoe, almost as much as I heart YSL. Love 'em!

Hauteness! (R.I.P. MJ Edition)

Michael Jackson had a major influence on music & fashion. Signature looks like his military garb, single glove, penny loafers, dark shades, and leather jacket are staples. Check out this vintage MJ-inspired jumpsuit (currently bidding @ $102.50 via www.ebay.com). It's still hard to believe he's gone. One thing's for sure, Michael Jackson will live on forever.

Today is a sad day in the world of music & fashion. Michael Jackson, died @ age 50 today. He is a true icon & will be mourned. R.I.P. 1958-2009

Looking for a showstopper? Check out Max Kibardin's fringe pump ($860 via www.saks.com). I love the muted-grey color and the layers of fringe. Add nude or grey nail polish and be prepared for constant stares. Love 'em!

Can you say "atrocious"? Singer Kelis showed-up @ an event in NYC, impersonating Indigo from Rainbow Brite. I understand she's pregnant but---GEESH! Her milkshake is sour. H8ted it!

And with the addition of his new accessories collection, more fashionistas can indulge. Check out my favorite picks from the upcoming fall '09 line. I'm sooooo feeling the colors and the supple leather. The cocoa duffle bag and the leather vest is complete insanity. I admire his ability to mix opulence with edge. I can't wait for this release. Love it!

As I always say, noir is the sexiest color. And the house of Gucci, damn sure knows sex. Check out their ad for fall '09. Featuring model Anja Rubik, this ad is all about the new crocodile Jackie bag. Now, this is how you pose and show accessories. Its sexy, its noir, its Gucci! Love it!

German Vogue has dedicated their entire June '09 issue to the fierce & fabulous Heidi Klum. I must say, the cover is super-haute! The magazine features 140 pages edited & exclusively featuring the uber-model/designer/tv host. The German must really appreciate their biggest style icon (as we do). Work!

Leanne Marshall Fall '09

Project Runway winner, Leanne Marshall, is a dynamic & innovative designer. Check out my favorite looks from her fall '09 collection. Like her winning PR collection, Marshall has incorporated architectural elements into her design. I love her use of color & sustainable fabrics. Her garments are very intricately-detailed but seem easy-to-wear. With her organic initiative and creativity, she's sure to have a promising career. Check out my favorite looks from Marc Jacobs Resort 2010. This collecton looks soooo effortless, fun, and chic. I always love MJ's use of prints. And with this showing, he didn't disappoint The Doll. Like many other designers, he is pushing the envelope w/ the platforms. Overall, this is a dope collection. Love it!

Honorable Mention: Lil' Kim

If you were unaware, Lil' Kim is a fashion icon. And apparently the make-up artists @ Dior Beauty recognize the Queen. Check her out in Santa Monica, yesterday, @ Dior Beauty's luncheon. She was looking tooo fierce in all noir (notice the lace, lol!). I love the Gucci clutch and sandals. Big mama always gives you fashion. Work!

Christian Louboutin goes Victorian

In a new ad campaign for spring/summer '09, Christian Louboutin throws it back to the Victorian Era. Shot by renowned photographer, Peter Lippmann, each shoe is accompanied by some "very vintage" artifacts. This campaign is sure to command attention---just like those famous red bottoms. Love it!

CFDA Nominees a'Muse' Themselves

Who needs a model, when the CFDA nominees can serve as their own muse? In a new photo spread for the CFDA journal, this year's nominees rock their own designs. Marc Jacobs (show above) in the bunny ears from Louis Vuitton fall '09, Jason Wu in a emerald dress, the designers from Proenza Schouler sporting handbags as boxing gloves, etc.... The spread is just as inspiring as the designers. Love it!

Rihanna Banned from Vogue?

Don't expect to see Rihanna gracing the cover of Vogue anytime soon. After meeting Anna Wintour at this year's Costume Institute Gala, Rihanna was extended a cover opportunity. However, nude pics of the singer/fashionista appeared on the internet shortly after and the offer was quickly retracted. Can you say "disappointment"? I'm sure the spread would have been phenomenal. :-(

Juicy Going for Gucci

I'm all about inspiration but damn---Juicy is totally bitting Gucci with this one. The colors, shape, hardware, and floral is screaming GUCCI! The creative team @ Juicy Couture needs a spanking. H8ted it!
