Vera Wang Rock Princess

For those unaware, I'm a big perfume-fan. I view it as a need versus a want. As Mademoiselle Coco Chanel said, "A woman whom doesn't wear perfume, is a woman without a future." (need I say more?) Vera Wang Fragrance will be expanding the Princess collection this spring. If the new perfume, Vera Wang Rock Princess, is anything like its sister (I heart Princess!)---its sure to be a great addition to the family. Vera Wang X Rock 'n Roll = DOPE! I bet it smells like teen spirit (Nirvana rules, lol!).

The Dream rockin' Louis Vuitton's Stephen Sprouse Collection

Your boy, The Dream, can definitely get a 10 (like Christina Milan, sitting to his left) dressed like this. This is a great way to rock the sneaker ($980 @ www.eluxury.com, unlike Necole Bitchie's caption of $1500). I love the LV t-shirt with the leather jacket. Knock 'em dead Dream.

Simplistic-Chic @ Chanel Haute Couture

Killa Kill @ Lacroix

If you didn't know, the Paris Haute Couture Spring '09 shows started this week. One of the first to show, Christian Lacroix (aka the beast) kicked it off with his new beautifully tailored collection. Although, it was quite a hodge-podgey showing-Lacroix presented great garments. I'm loving his use of the noir models. (Check out Chanel Iman and the other one with the ashy-knees, love it! lol)

Armani Prive' kicks it up for Spring '09 Couture

Mr. Armani sure knows how to put together a beautiful and cohesive color-palette. All I have to say is "work"!

SAG Awards Best Dressed is.........

Although, this is more of an "Oscar-gown" Hatcher killed it in this frock (by Monique Lhuillier). She even looked rested (unlike her usual worn-insominiac look) lol! I'm loving the thin black belt.

Honorable Mention from Pre-Fall '09

After critics shunned his last colllection, Alexander McQueen is showing promise of redemption for Pre-Fall '09. I love this aubergine color and his styling is magnificent, as usual. Mr. McQueen is, as always, a true showman.

The September Issue

R.J. Cutler's new film, "The September Issue" has been receiving rave reviews at Sundance. The documentary is based on the creation of Vogue magazine's Sept. '07 issue. After this month's festival, the film will debut on A&E. Needless to say, I'm patiently anticipating this release. Anything about fashion matriarch, Anna Wintour, is sure to be a true delight.

Designers amaze me, with the number of collections they put out annually. Check out Giambattista Valli's Pre-Fall Collection '09. Its looking a wee bit like Balenciaga but, his colors & shapes are on-point.

First the recession 'causes labels to opt-out of fashion week, then www.bluefly.com nearly gives Versace handbags away for 90% off, now high-fashion houses like Yves Saint Laurent are going unisex. Stefano Pilati, head of creative design for YSL, recently announced the upcoming release of a unisex collection. So tell your man or woman, "don't even trip; we can share."

Teairra Mari rockin' Louis Vuitton's Stephen Sprouse collection

I absolutely love this collection but, Teairra Mari might be "over-killing it". The t-shirt, bag, leggings (super-dope. by the way), and the scarf---but that's a Detroit girl for you. She's seen hear at the "Notorious" Premiere in L.A. (with Pleasure P from Pretty Ricky).

Gucci's bringing backpack's back!

Like everything in fashion, backpacks have resurfaced. Gucci has just added a couple of sick-azz backpacks to the house's spring/summer '09 collection (http://www.gucci.com/). In addition to the backpacks, the collection also includes other stand-out pieces (for example:the huge handbag/luggage shown). I had to preview this because; everyone knows I heart Gucci!

Marc Jacobs X Stephen Sprouse = Louis Vuitton Magic

In 2001, the House of Louis Vuitton collaborated with glam punk artist Stephen Sprouse, to create one of the most raved collections in the house's history. Eight years later, with the genius (that is) creative director Marc Jacobs, LV has presented another ode' to hood chic. The collection includes neon-graffitti splattered speedys, keepalls, neverfulls, scarves, jewelry, key-chains, shoes, and even a skate board (Pharrell probably had one on pre-order, lol!). After launching on Jan. 9th, these limited-edition keepsakes are sure to sell-out fast. Expect to see every socialite, celebuante, r&b chick, league broad, and fashionista rocking this collection throughout '09. What a perfect way to bring in the New Year!!!!

Today LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey Group) announced the retail sector of http://www.eluxury.com/ is closing, indefinitely. According to http://www.wwd.com/, the website will be shutting down for six months; in effort to launch an online magazine. They cited "lack of revenue and e-commerce" for the decision. Like Young Jeezy said, in reference to the recession, "I think Bush is trying to punish us." Taking away the only website selling authentic Louis Vuitton, is indeed a form of lethal injection.

M.A.C. Hearts Hello Kitty

M.A.C. Comestics is set to launch their new Hello Kitty collection next month. The line will be available at www.maccosmetics.com on Feb. 10th and in stores on Feb. 12th. The limited-edition line will feature various eye-shadow quads, lip glasses, shimmers, lipsticks, etc... Drag-queens and baby dolls mark your calendars!

Barbie to take over New York Fashion Week

From Mercedes-Benz to Mattel, New York's famed fashion week has had many sponsors. And now with the recession in full-effect IMG Fashion (group responsible for organizing fashion week) is giving unconventional labels, like Mattel the opportunity to show. In fact, 50 designers have signed on to create looks for life-size Barbies; to rip the runway.

And with fewer confirmed designers than last season, Mattel is sure to breathe life into the much-anticipated February event.

Christian Louboutin is a man after my heart. With the patent leather fluorescent Hyper Prive' peep-toe pumps (http://www.saks.com/), the parisian shoe genius screams chic in heels. Tom Ford aka "Gangsta-T" store opening in L.A.

Ooh how I admire Tom Ford's gangster prowess. I'll compare it to that of Frank Lucas; in reference to strategy. Ford has been building a succesful label, since parting with the House of Gucci in '04. And, according to www.style.com, he will be opening a store in L.A.---directly across from Gucci (on Rodeo Drive, of course). No one on the corner has swagger like Tom!

Guys step up your shoe game!!!

This is what I like to see. They're a composite of everything a chic gentleman would want in a sneaker (retail @ $610) . I'll call it "The Louis Chuck". Normally male sneaker freaks spend @ least $200-$250 on the latest or rare pair of Jordans.
